Before the
official Supremacy 1914 tournament will start within the next week, we published another game update at 12pm GMT on the 24th of September.
This update focuses on the Foreign Affairs aspect of the game and introduces a new
general info panel besides making changes to the set of diplomatic relations.
The new
general info view shows more information in a well structured way. Besides
shortcuts to new messages and trades, this panel can also be used to change
diplomatic relations and make offers to other players. Besides the in-game name of players, their site user name will always be listed there too.
The overview list now shows, from left to right: Ranking points, player status (active, inactive, NPC), name, nation, number of provinces, unread messages, open trade offers and the current diplomatic relation.
More
influential for the game itself will be the changes to the set of diplomatic
relations:
- We
removed the Army Command option which allowed other players to give orders to
ones armies. This feature can too easily be abused and was thus not used very often after all. The update will not change existing alliances with shared Army Command though.
- As a
substitute for army command, there is now the option to Share the Map with
another player. This is the highest degree of international partnership and can
be used to coordinate military maneuvers.
- Trade
Embargoes are a new status, somewhere between war and peace. When a player
selects this relation towards another country, both can no longer trade with
each other on the stock market. We are curious if this feature will influence
the way the stock market is used, as it is now possible to only trade with (and
thus support) friendly countries there.
The updated
manual page on diplomatics discusses these features in some more detail.
For those
