Espionage
In this last category of your command center you can enter the realms of the Secret Service. You can be assured that neither friend nor foe will always keep you informed on what they have in their minds. This makes it necessary to tap some inofficial sources from time to time.
New spies are recruited for 20.000 pounds.
Spies can be sent on four different missions:
| |
- Pure Intelligence missions (2000 pounds/day)
- Economical sabotage (4000 pounds/day)
- Military sabotage (4000 pounds/day)
- Homeland defence (1000 pounds/day)

Intelligence mission:
A
spy on an intelligence mission has the assignment to find out things of
value for its sovereign. It is advised to do so without doing damage in
order to draw as little attention as possible to its acting.
Spies that are on this type of mission have been observed of delivering the following information:
- Basic
information about the province it is stationed in, including amongst
others, the strength of the garrisoned army, the current tax revenue
and resource production, what kind of building or factory output that
province is currently producing and how long it will take to complete
it.
- Information of armies nearby. These are rumours and
inquiries the spy has picked up and conducted that include the
different armies in a certain ambit and maybe even their orders.
- Information
on the resources in stock of the spied at country including the
requests and offers to the international market.
- Intercept comunications the spied at country leader has send or received during the past day.
- And one of the most valuable information, the whereabouts and names of the enemy’s spies.
- Gather
information about the partially secret foreign relations of the
according country leader. These includes intelligence information of
which armies he can command or not.
Economical Sabotage:
Spies that are told to commit acts of economical sabotage have been captured trying the following:
- Convincing
mayors of proper and important resource producing provinces to
privilege army production instead of the so much needed resources.
- Stealing the whole tax revenue of a province.
- Sabotaging the province’s resource production by simply blowing it up.
- Or even decreasing the morale of the brave inhabitants of the province by some sneaky campaigns.
Military Sabotage:
Military sabotage missions include the orders to:
- Convincing mayors to privilege production of unneeded resources instead of armies.
- Delaying the production of buildings like railways, harbours and of factory productions.
- Damaging the fortifications of a province.
- Developing the above all wanted complete listing of all armies of the enemy and their locations.
Homeland Defence:
Spies
have a certain chance to get caught if they are stationed on foreign
territory. As sabotage missions involve a severe intrusion into the
enemy's economical or even military business compared to mere
information gathering missions, the chance to get caught for a spy on a
sabotage mission is much higher than for a spy with an intelligence
mission.
The chance to get caught increases significantly if a spy is delegated to work as counter spy. Placing a spy on your home soil will automatically make him work as counter spy on a homeland defence mission.
